Trauma Therapy for Kids and Teens
Trauma Therapy for Kids and Teens
Carlos lost a loved one in a tragic and unexpected way. After the loss, he stopped sleeping through the night. The nightmares wouldn’t go away, and even during the day, he was jumpy, withdrawn, and afraid to be alone. He didn’t have the words to describe what he was feeling — but he knew he didn’t feel safe anymore.
Trauma therapy for children and teens is a safe space where young people can express what's inside without having to explain it perfectly. Whether through talk, play, art, or movement, they learn how to make sense of their emotions, feel more secure in their bodies, and begin to rebuild a sense of safety and trust.
I support young clients in:
Processing grief and loss
Healing from traumatic experiences such as abuse, accidents, or witnessing violence
Managing anxiety, nightmares, and sleep disturbances
Learning tools to calm their nervous system and feel more in control
Strengthening emotional expression, resilience, and connection to caregivers
In therapy, Carlos found ways to safely talk about what happened. He began to sleep better, felt less afraid, and started to enjoy the things he once loved. Most importantly, he began to feel like himself again.
No child or teen should have to carry the weight of trauma alone. Therapy can help them find their footing and feel whole again.
